A church-owned playground on our street was popular with local children, but had fallen into serious disrepair. So the neighborhood kids wrote a letter to the church asking if something could be done about it.
The church invited the kids to a meeting to discuss options. I went to the meeting with my son and volunteered to lead the renovation that would be manned by volunteers from the church and neighborhood.
The three main tasks before us were raising funds, designing the playground updates, and the physical construction and renovtion. Some of the volunteers had experience with crowdfunding, so I had them set up the crowdfunding site while I designed the renovations.
I scoured the internet for DIY playground equipment plans and modified them to fit our purposes. I then sourced the materials we would need to make the upgrades, getting costs and delivery options. From all of this I created a project book.
The project book had all the bluprints and assembly instructions for the new playground equipment, plan outline for construction day, materials, equipment, and cut lists, job breakouts, and number of workers needed.
